Review: The Dating Plan by: Sara Desai

I’m back! Welcome 2021, and all the good books it promises to bring!

At the end of last year, I joined the Book of the Month Club. I’ve gotta say, so far, I am more than happy. I currently have two books from the service, and have just finished January’s offering. (I haven’t yet started the book I got in November, but I’m planning on diving into that one next.)

Let’s get to the review, shall we?

“The Dating Plan” by Sara Desai struck my fancy when I saw it in the list of offerings for January. Eager to get started on this journey, I picked up the book and had such a difficult time putting it down.

This book is smart, fun, (heartbreaking at times), and just a warm hug of a story. It’s filled with family, friends, and a quirky fake dating plan that goes awry.

Daisy Patel and Liam Murphy are just brilliant characters. The friends and family that surround them really rounds this story out into a fun adventure that’s laced with love and a little bit of hard lessons (mostly brought on by the characters’ own stubbornness.)

As far as love stories go, this one is as beautiful s it is fun, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

It has also made my stomach growl on several occasions with all the mentions of delicious food.

Though I think I’ll pass on the Shark Stew.

Book of the Month is a great subscription service for those who love to read. It helps you reach out and find something new every month. If you’d like to give it a try, check it out and see what they have to offer!

“The Dating Plan” isn’t out yet. I managed to snag it as an early release from BotM. But if you’re interested in pre-ordering, it is available on Amazon, and will be released in March.
